“A safari here is about slowing down, paying attention and letting the wild seep in. The days stretch, and you notice more - in the land and in yourself” - Wiz

At Wiz's Camp we believe in connecting our guests to the land and to each other. We lean into the elemental side of camp life: the ground beneath your feet, fire, hot water, and fresh air. These things create a sense of grounding that makes everything else possible.

We pair that with great food and long, unhurried meals around a big table where everyone is expected to contribute to the conversation. Head chef James Kariuki makes sure the food is worthy of the occasion. The rest is up to the people in camp.

There is no wifi in camp. Although in an emergency, we can connect to Elon's satellites.

Wow Wow WOW ! - We had no idea what to expect and found perhaps the best camp in Kenya!!

River

  • Our stretch of the Ewaso Nyiro River offers simple pleasures — try your hand at fishing for catfish or barbel, or cool off when the water runs low.

  • In the right season, the shallows become a playground — swimming, splashing, and muddy laughter beneath the Laikipia sun.

Cattle Ranching

  • Wiz’s Camp sits on a working cattle ranch, where livestock and wildlife share the same landscape — a living example of harmony between conservation and agriculture.

  • Guests are welcome to visit the weekly cattle dip, usually held on Tuesdays, to watch the process and learn how the herd is cared for.

  • It’s a fascinating glimpse into ranch life on Laikipia — understanding how careful land management allows both cattle and wild species to thrive side by side.
